Christmas should be a time of celebration, yet for many in our local community, facing Christmas with little or no money is a sad reality for many. This time of year puts even more demands on finances and many will be faced with rationing the last of their food supplies over the festive period. With nothing left to pay for even the essential groceries, a modest Christmas dinner is out of the question.
The charity relies heavily on donations, with over 90% of food distributed via Foodbanks being donated by the public and local businesses.
The Trussell Trust Southport Foodbank is delighted to have received support again from local employer Access Point Ltd and the team located at The Old Courthouse, Southport.
“Our involvement with Access Point started back in 2014 and we are delighted to have received support this year with a donation of 30 Christmas dinners. They have been very much appreciated by all of our clients who have received one” said John Sullivan, Southport Foodbank.
Access Point Managing Director Jeanette Morgan replied “Access Point is delighted to offer our continued support to the Southport Foodbank. We are proud of the work we do locally to help those less fortunate in our community”
