Fireworks bosses have announced that tonight’s displays are cancelled due to bad weather.
In a statement shared by Sefton Council this afternoon they said high winds will pose a safety threat to the crowds.
Last nights show was reportedly a sell out event. Two displays were due to be shown tonight.
A statement read “After consulting numerous industry standard weather forecasting organisations, and in full consultation with our competition clerk, wind specialist, tonight’s competitors and firing teams, due to the forecasted wind later this evening,
We have made the difficult decision to cancel the event on Sunday 25th September 2022.
It is unfortunately a risk with the nature of this event, and this is very disheartening for everybody involved, but the safety of our customers is our primary concern.
Any tickets purchased for tonight will automatically be refunded and will take 7-10 business days.”
