The Dead of Night Film Festival comes to you on the 20th & 21st October 2017 and is a new addition to the ever-growing International horror film festival circuit. The festival wants to celebrate independent horror short and feature films and bring something new to Southport’s art scene.

The festival is brought to you by award winning independent film makers 2 Headed Snake Entertainment.  2 Headed Snake produced last year’s multiple award winning film, ‘Good Tidings’ which was filmed in the Old Courthouse and it’s disused cells.  Festival Director Stu Jopia, who studied at Southport College, is excited to be introducing the films “We want audiences to have the same experience they get when watching their favourite larger budget movies, an experience in our eyes that every movie should have, screened on the big screen.”

It can be hard for Independent filmmakers to get theatrical releases for their movies and we want to help get them the audiences they deserve. It’s such an important part of independent cinema and is the best way to get their movies seen around the globe. So rest assured this festival is made for horror fans by horror fans”

The festival will form part of this year’s Southport Halloween Festival – put together by Southport BID.  There is full week of exciting events planned for Halloween with some great announcements to come.  The Atkinson is also hosting the Film Festival in its theatre and studio and offering support to it.
