Stylish Stanley High students enjoy PROM NIGHT celebration at the Ramada
Students from Stanley High School in Southport stepped out in style at their end-of-year prom night this week.
School uniforms were left in wardrobes at home as the students donned swish frocks and sharp suits for the glittering occasion, which was held this year at the Ramada Plaza Hotel on the Promenade for the second time in the history of the event.
As well as dressing in style, many of the students took advantage of the opportunity to arrive at the event in style, in an array of VIP vehicles including limousines, sports cars and vintage cars.
More than 120 students from year 11 attended the prom, which was organised by members of the Student Leadership Team with the help of Year 11 Leader Cathy Rae.
Mrs Rae said: “As ever there was a really lovely atmosphere at prom night this year. It was great to see that such a large crowd of family members and friends had turned out to watch the students walk down the red carpet.”
A number of Stanley High staff members also attended the event, which saw guests sitting down to a delicious three-course meal before partying the evening away on the dance floor.
Headteacher Neil Moore commented: “Prom night was a fantastic event and I would like to pay tribute to our students for looking so stylish and smart and being a real credit to the school.
“Everyone could see that they had all put a huge amount of time and effort into dressing up and making it an evening to remember.
“The event was also a great way for members of year 11 to celebrate all their hard work over recent months with their fellow students and staff.
“They have been incredibly committed to their studies, and I am now looking forward to hearing all about their achievements on GCSE results day,” added Mr Moore.
