Schools in Southport are on high alert after a man in a transit van reportedly kept slowing his vehicle down as he followed a schoolgirl in a frightening manner as she walked home.
A warning over stranger danger has been issued to parents across the town after a young girl was approached by a man in a grey VW Transit Van who kept speeding and subsequently slowing down as she walked down the road in the Meols Cop area of Southport.
The male in question was so intimidating the girl she FaceTimed a family member and showed the man she was in contact with an adult which caused him to flee the scene.
The student, who goes to Christ The King high school, was unable to obtain a proper identification of the driver due to the dark lighting. Police have been made aware and a warning has been issued to parents.
