Storm Ciara Hits Southport On Sunday!

Hold onto your hats! Batten down the hatches! Storm Ciara is set to hit Southport  on Sunday 9th February.

North Western coastal areas are particularly affected as the Met Office warns of large waves, with loose beach material being thrown onto sea fronts, coastal roads and exposed coastal properties.

The Met Office also cautions that injuries may occur from flying debris as a consequence of the predicted 70 mph winds. Driving will be made more hazardous because of the accompanying heavy rain.

The winds are expected to build up from the evening of Saturday 8th February and last throughout Sunday.

And looking ahead, the Met Office warns of heavy snow early next week once Storm Ciara has passed. Get out your snow shoes!
