Stanley High School Christmas concert hits the right note
A Southport high school hit the right note with its annual Christmas concert for families, friends and local residents.
Stanley High School in Marshside issued a special invitation to the festive musical celebration to grandparents of the students and elderly people in the area,
They joined parents and friends at the event which featured a varied programme of traditional and contemporary music, dance and drama.
The concert involved 85 students from all year groups at Stanley who presented everything from choral pieces and instrumental solos to modern dance and acted excerpts from festive favourites including Perter Pan and Robin Hood.
After the event guests enjoyed the traditional yuletide accompaniments of tea, coffee and mince pies.
Commenting on the production Stanley High Headteacher, Neil Moore, said: “I would like to pay tribute to all the students and staff involved in the concert for the quality of their performances on the day.
“I know they had been rehearsing before, during and after school for many weeks to prepare themselves for the event.
“All their hard work resulted in a really successful concert which was very warmly received by our guests from the local community and family members,” added Mr Moore.
