STAFF at a disabled charity in Southport are quickly becoming dementia friends!
Revitalise staff have just completed session three of four to help them better understand alzheimer’s and dementia so they can better themselves while working with vulnerable clients.
They were helped by dementia friends champion Joe Sherville who regularly teaches courses to make businesses and their staff more ‘dementia friendly’
S&A Ladies donate £1000 to Revitalise Sandpipers
A great morning meeting and receiving a cheque for £1000 from the Southport & Ainsdale Ladies Golf Club for Revitalise Sandpipers.
The presentation from, and initiated by, Lady Captain Linda Callaghan to Sandpipers Manager Katrine Schofield and support group Friends of Sandpipers Chairman Brenda Porter was gratefully received and much appreciated.
The event followed the ladies annual charity day when Linda had chosen Revitalise noting their support for those with disabilities and their carers.
Revitalise Sandpipers is the local centre in Southport with two other Centres one in Essex and one in Hampshire who provide much needed holiday respite for those with disabilities, and their carers.
These breaks provide a true holiday experience with all that we all expect …great food/entertainment/exciting accessible excursions and a super environment….and much more… ongoing support,24hr on-call nurse led care and quality hospitality.

As representatives for Sandpipers both Katrine and I were warmly welcomed and had the opportunity to both thank the ladies for their kindness and generosity while also providing literature and relevant information on the charity they had chosen to support on this occasion.
The entertainment following the presentation deserves to be highlighted , it was excellent and I think Katrine is thinking of joining them ha ha (true) the Southport Rock Band.
Well done ladies, and one gentleman, you were great?
A lovely day thank you to all involved.
