SPAR shoppers raise an impressive £1156 for Marie Curie
SPAR Cambridge Road would like to thank everyone who supported their SPAR Spooktacular campaign over the Halloween period.
Karl Wildman, Store Manager of SPAR Cambridge Road said: “We would like to thank everyone who helped us to raise a fantastic £1156 for Marie Curie during our Halloween Spooktacular.
“Staff really got into the Halloween spirit, donning spooky costumes and hosting a range of activities within the store including a daily Spider Hunt, a Hair Raising Raffle and an Awesome Art Competition which was run in partnership with Churchtown Primary School.”
The Awesome Art Competition saw children aged between 3 – 11 years entering a Halloween masterpiece, either in the form of a painting, drawing or sculpture and winners were chosen from each year group and awarded with Halloween treats and stationery.
SPAR Cambridge Road shoppers also supported a Hair Raising Raffle and two lucky winners were awarded with a Haunted Hamper featuring donations from the store and products from SPAR Cambridge Road’s in-store butcher, Graham Eyes.
Children shopping with their parents also had to find the Halloween spider, hidden in-store between the 25th October and the 1st November.
Karl added: “We were very impressed with the standard of entries for our Awesome Art Competition and how staff and customers enthusiastically took part in the in-store activities.
“Marie Curie offers a lifeline to many families in and around the Southport area and we were delighted to be able to raise £1156 for such a vital cause.
“We will soon be hosting in-store fundraising activities for Christmas so make sure you come and have a look!”
