Spar brawl triggers panic when shoplifter fights back

A Churchtown store was forced to shut early last night after a fight broke out between staff and a would-be shoplifter led to chaos.

CCTV footage caught the entire fight on camera after staff tried to stop a shoplifter from leaving the Spar on Cambridge Road.

Terrified staff managed to subdue the thief while police were called.

Officers have arrested a Male in connection with the attempted theft and are currently looking through CCTV images of the incident.
