Clubs in the National League North and South have voted to declare the 2020/21 season null and void.
Clubs had been asked to vote on four different resolutions to decide how the season should conclude.
National League North clubs voted 15-7 in favour of ending the season. The National League South voted to continue 12-9, but totalled with the National League North means the season across both of the regional leagues will now be declared null and void.
The league above Port voted in favour of completing the season.
Southport manager Liam Watson and majority shareholder Ian Kyle had both prominently called for the season to end, as the division did not have the financial means to conduct regular testing.
The club had already said they would not play in any further fixtures until the result of the vote was known.
The National League said: “With the voting procedure now closed, National League North and South fixtures will cease with immediate effect.
“The Board will take the resolution outcome to The Football Association for ratification. This will include dialogue regarding promotion and relegation. “
