A Cherry Tree lodge resident has got a special parcel in the post after the Queen sent her a special card to celebrate her 100th birthday.
Centurion Violet Hewitt was joined by her friends and immediate family as well as staff from the Southport care home as she marked her 100th birthday in style with a massive cake, present and flowers.
A spokesperson for the home said: “Violet celebrated with one of her twin boys, a daughter in law granddaughter and her great grandchildren.
“She was also joined by other family and friends as well as staff who all sang happy birthday to her.”
Violet also received a special card from Queen Elizabeth II to wish her a happy birthday and congratulate the 100 year old in successful long and happy life.
