Southport woman launches campaign to help fire gutted friend

18th July 2019

A Southport Samaritan is trying to raise £2,500 to help her friend who was left homeless after a fire gutted her static home.

Jackie Cockwill says she was heartbroken to learn that her friend Cathy is now homeless as a result of a horrific fire overnight and she has immediately sprung into action to help her back on her feet.

Jackie said “Today I found out my very good friend Cathy McCann lost her home, all it’s contents and all her personal and sentimental belongings to a fire, Cathy has lost everything she owns, all she has are the clothes she walked away wearing.

Luckily Cathy managed to rescue her 2 precious dogs. Sadly Cathy had no insurance so is totally left homeless with no were to go.

Cathy is such a loving, caring person and does not deserve this, i would like to help Cathy be able to get herself back on her feet. Please if anyone could help out that would be fantastic, nothing is to small.”
