Southport turning into jungle of weeds

weeds and overgrown kerb-side grass are blighting the borough, say residents.

Now councillors in Sefton are growing exasperated at the length of time it takes the authority to sort the problem out.

One Ainsdale resident, Jim Pickleton of Chatsworth Road told OTS: “I leave my house to walk to work of a morning and it looks like some kind of nuclear wasteland.

“The gutters are simply full of weeds and overgrowth, it’s just not on.

“This is a nice area to live but over the last few months the council has just let the weeds take over.”
