Southport skies will turn yellow next week in a balloon release tribute to murdered Travel Agent Cassie Hayes.

Her friend Sammy Jayne has planned the tribute at the Marine Lake, four weeks after the tragedy
She said “Saturday 10th Feb will be 4 weeks since our Cass was cruelly taken from us.

One of Cassie’s favourite spots was the seafront, so at 1:27pm we will be releasing balloons in memory of her, meeting at the sea wall opposite the Guilder Rose pub.

“Then everyone is welcome back to the Wellington pub for the fundraiser event and to all get together to share our memories of Cass.

So please bring a balloon and let’s show some love for Cass.”

Popular publican Annie McTaggart is holding a fundraiser to help the daughter of murdered Cassie Hayes.

The Wellington Pub landlord is asking for donations of prizes and gifts for an auction on 10th February so she can raise as much money as possible for Ruby, the four year old child Cassie Hayes had with her former partner Leah.

Among the gifts already offered for the auction is a midweek break in the Lake District.

All money raised will go towards a trust fund for when Ruby comes of age.
