Southport Shoppers targeted in ‘dash crash’ scam

Shoppers at Central 12’s complex in Southport are warning others to be careful of a suspected dash cam crash scam operating in the area.

One driver who had been to the ASDA supermarket reported that a dark blue car with two men in it tried to deliberately hit their vehicle.

When the quick thinking driver stopped ahead of any impact, they were surprised to be confronted by the two men who were adamant that they had been hit.

While police weren’t called, the would be victim said they watched the same drivers try to do similar manoeuvres to two other unsuspecting shoppers with similar failed results.

Dashcam evidence has proved vital to prosecuting a ‘crash for cash’ fraudster who deliberately caused an accident in a bid to claim thousands of pounds from insurers.
