Southport shoppers delighted with Chapel Street outdoor Market

Hundreds of intrigued shoppers have been taking full advantage of the outdoor Chapel Street markets this week.

Running till Sunday, the plethora of delicatessens, crafts and more goods are drawing in bumper crowds for the Markets, which are run by the tourism department.

The stalls have proved so popular that shoppers have asked if they can be a permanent fixture.

A post on the visit southport website reads: “Join us for the Outdoor Market along Chapel Street. Various stalls selling local produce, baked goods, clothes, bedding, candy and more!”

One shopper, Gary Burgess, said: “they’re a much nicer addition than that horrible empty BHS.

“It blocks out the rubbish side of Chapel Street so I’d definitely welcome them back”
