A Flash Mob of 27 schools is being held to celebrate arts and music as part of the Southport, Learning Partnership Arts and Dance Festival, Photographs by Lynda Matthews Fogg.
Up to 30 pupils from each school, aged three to 18, took part in the event which was held today, Tuesday, July 14, in the Wayfarers Arcade.
Each school was given five minutes to perform a series of dances and songs.
The Southport Learning Partnership (SLP), which is organising the festival, is a collaborative group of headteachers from schools in the area that formed in 2010 to set joint ventures which involve all pupils at the SLP schools.
The event ran from 10am-3pm, with a Flash Mob involving all the pupils took place at 11am and 1.50pm.
STORM, an event management company are looking after the Flash Mob festival and recording it with lapse equipment.
Their managing director Jonathon Cunningham excited to see how it all comes together on Tuesday.
He said:
“We offered to do the event for free as we wanted to support SLP in the community – they are a fabulous organisation and we are really excited by it.
“It was a terrific event and we are delighted to be involved.”
