Southport residents are being invited to find out more about careers in Sefton’s care sector at an event in Netherton next week.
New Directions, one of Sefton’s leading adult social care providers, is staging a jobs fair at the Feelgood Factory on Glovers Lane between 10.30am and 3.30pm on Monday 2nd March
Staff from the organisation will be on hand to brief attendees on the wide range of services operated by its 500-strong team for people across the borough with support requirements due to disabilities, age or mental health conditions.
They will also provide details of a number of permanent full and part-time positions that New Directions is looking to fill immediately in two of its key services – reablement and domiciliary care.
Reablement team members support patients throughout Sefton who have been discharged from hospital, or people who have had an illness, fall or other crisis at home.
The aim is to help them regain their life skills and confidence, and to maintain their independence, while also reducing pressure on hospital beds.
Meanwhile, the domiciliary care team supports older people in the south of the borough who still live by themselves.
Staff provide help with personal care, household tasks and a range of other activities that enable clients to remain at home and maintain their quality of life.
Commenting on the jobs fair New Directions HR Manager, Adam Drury, said: “We’re actively looking to recruit new staff at this event so we’re hoping for a very good turnout on the day.
“The jobs on offer are community based, with guaranteed hours and suitable for both drivers and walkers.
“It’s an ideal opportunity for people to develop a career in social care, and at the same to provide a valuable service to local people who use these services by helping them to remain independent for longer.”
Anyone unable to attend the Feelgood Factory event can learn more about the opportunities on offer by ringing New Directions on 0151 705 0300 or by visiting www.ndirections.co.uk.
