Southport Residents invited to learn more about carer opportunities

27th July 2018

Merseyside residents are being invited to find out more about careers in Sefton’s care sector at an event in Southport next week.

New Directions, Sefton’s leading adult social care provider, is staging a jobs fair at the Royal Clifton Hotel on The Promenade between 10am and 2pm on Monday August 6

Staff from the organisation will be on hand to brief guests on the wide range of services operated by its 500-strong team for people across the borough with support requirements due to disabilities, age or mental health conditions.

They will also provide details of a number of full and part-time positions that New Directions is looking to fill immediately in two of its key services – reablement and domiciliary care.

Reablement team members support patients throughout Sefton who have been discharged from hospital, or people who have had an illness, fall or other crisis at home.

The aim is to help them regain their life skills and confidence, and to maintain their independence, thus reducing pressure on hospital beds.

Meanwhile, the domiciliary care team supports older people in the south of the borough who still live by themselves

Staff provide help with personal care, household tasks and a range of other activities that enable clients to remain at home and maintain their quality of life.

Commenting on the jobs fair New Directions HR Manager, Adam Drury, said: “We’re actively looking to recruit new staff at this event so we’re hoping for a very good turnout on the day.

“It’s an ideal opportunity for people to develop a career in social care, and at the same to make a real difference to vulnerable members of the local community.”

Anyone unable to attend the Royal Clifton Hotel event can learn more about the opportunities on offer by ringing New Directions on 0151 705 0300 or by visiting www.ndirections.co.uk.
