Health commissioners in Sefton are inviting local residents with an interest in their work to come along to their next governing body meetings.
NHS Southport and Formby Clinical Commissioning Group (CCG) and NHS South Sefton CCG hold their bi-monthly governing body meetings in public, so that people can listen to the discussions and the decision making processes of the doctors, nurses and other health professionals that make up these forums.
Dr Rob Caudwell, local GP and chair of NHS Southport and Formby CCG, said: “We’d like to give local residents a warm welcome to our governing body meetings taking place in November. These meetings are a great way for you to keep up to date with developments in healthcare in the area and understand how and why decisions are made.”
Dr Craig Gillespie, local GP and chair of NHS South Sefton CCG, said: “By coming along to one of our meetings, you will get an insight in to the work that we do here at the CCGs to provide the right healthcare services for our residents. You’ll be able to listen to key discussions, observe the decision making process and ask us questions before the meeting starts.
