Sefton residents are being invited to a Christmas market with a difference in Southport at the end of the month.
The event at the New Leaf garden centre on Rotten Row will feature festive goods created by people who use the services of one of the borough’s leading adult social care providers, New Directions.
The Christmas fayre will take place at New Leaf’s Park Lodge site from 11am to 3pm on Saturday 30th November.
Organisers say there will be a wide variety of seasonal items on offer, all produced by people who attend New Leaf supported by the project’s hard-working volunteers.
These will include handmade Christmas decorations and gifts and handcrafted wooden items including festive signs, magazine racks and bird boxes.
Meanwhile, the green-fingered gardening enthusiasts who attend New Leaf have also been working on a range of Christmas trees, wreaths and yuletide plants for home and garden.
Refreshments will be available in the market’s pop-up cafe, and shoppers will also be able to enjoy live music as they make their festive selections.
New Leaf Project Co-ordinator, Angela Green, commented: “Everyone here has been working extremely hard to prepare for the Christmas market which is one of the highlights of our year, so we’re hoping for a big turnout on the day.
“Visitors will have the chance to buy unique, hand-crafted items that are only available here at New Leaf.
“Customers will also have the satisfaction of knowing that any money they spend will be ploughed back into providing more resources and opportunities for the people who attend the service,” added Angela.
