Matthew Rycraft, with the support of the community starts the build of 8 Christmas gift bags after donations and support floods in, then hand delivers them out Saturday night, the response was fabulous.
To local Photographer said” Thank you to those who have donated so far, I built 8 bags, with lots more to come and I still need to visit the food banks!”

“In 20 minutes I handed out 4 bags when without me even knowing one homeless chap shares it with his mate, bearing in mind I have more to give out said he just needed a jacket…. to go to another young girl who said all she needed was a sleeping bag and some food… a passer by saw me chatting to her and gave her some hot food she’d had put in a carton to take home then rejected my gift bags cos she didn’t need it now”.
Saturday morning Matthew was in Birkdale sorting through donations building bags to gift out that very night.
He hit the streets to find those in need of a little Christmas Gift! In these bags are a sleeping bag, jackets, pants, gloves, socks, hats, scarfs, biscuits, beans and a few other bits. Pretty much a full outfits and some treats to take them through some cold nights.
Matthew is still asking the community to not stop here and to donate what they can to support this fabulous cause, he goes on to say” After sorting through the donations so far it would be lovely to see some more jackets, gloves, food of sustenance or even protein bars a like, sleeping bags (no need to be new) yoga matts.”
There are 2 donation points located in The Tea Rooms in Birkdale and McDonalds Ocean Plaza, he asks anybody who wishes to donate something to drop them off at those two locations.
If anyone wishes to donate an hour of their time to help please get in touch directly, matt@matthewrycraft.co.uk
