A Southport pensioner who suffered a serious concussion in a town-centre car park has thanked contractors who rushed to her aid.
81-year-old Jean Cobham was left with a potentially serious concussion and cuts to her hands after tripping at the London Street NCP car park near Southport railway station.
Jean says she suffered so much shock that she was at risk of passing out.
Luckily two men working nearby noticed the incident and immediately rushed to her aid.
The pair of everyday heroes administered first aid while also calling an ambulance.
Without their help Jean says she would have passed out and potentially gone unnoticed, causing even more scary possibilities.
Jean said: “The men working on-site, Liam Howard and Steven Farrington, came to my aid straight away, sat me down in their office and made sure I was seen to, made me feel relaxed.
“They rang the ambulance asap and as we waited Liam bandaged my head to stop the pressure of blood etc, bandages on both hands and made sure I was 100% responding as I was scared I was going to collapse.
“Steven also spoke to me making sure I kept talking throughout until the paramedics arrived.
“I am really grateful because without them there I think I would have passed out and scared I wouldn’t have woken up so I really want them to be mentioned because they were absolutely wonderful, 2 amazing men who are a credit to the business and the community.
“I’m back home now from hospital with my husband looking after me, everything ok again thanks to Liam and Steven.”
