Paramedic response times for critically injured patients varies across Sefton, according to new figures.
Using the Freedom of Information Act, BBC News obtained the average response times for the most life-threatening callouts in more than 2,700 local communities across Britain.
These times cover the point at which a trained person reaches the patient – so it could be an ambulance or volunteers trained by the service to respond to these highest-priority cases.
An average response time of around seven minutes is considered the target for the NHS, but this will increase depending on where you live, so those living in rural areas can expect to wait longer.
Locally, according to the report’s findings, patients in Formby have the longest to wait out of any area in Sefton, with an average response time of a little over 13 minutes – nearly double the seven minute target.
