Earlier this week Aaron Allan, a work colleague and the director of Wilson Fisher Ltd had been falsely accused of stealing property from the side entrance of a shop on Duke Street Southport.
The Southport building firm was simply retrieving old materials they had left down the side of the shop months ago after carrying out work for the landlord, Friday 3 April 2015.
Merseyside police attended after the shop owner rang them, an officer turned up and spoke with the shop owner who knew this was not a case of theft and no arrests were made.
CCTV pictures were posted by the newspaper and the shop owner.
Aaron Allan said:
“We were brandished as thieves by the shop owner and local paper, so we went to the shop to ask him to take the post off his facebook account and apologies to us the man who rents the shop still insisted the property was his and we had stolen it.
“The newspaper made no apology even after realising the reporter had just copied and pasted the story from Facebook”.
So in our defense and to clear our names and prove we owned the materials I have posted a picture of the materials taken on Good Friday along with all of their receipts”.
