Edge Hill is a fast-growing university which educates more than 15,000 students, including many from the Southport area.
Damien was invited to talk to politics students about the role of an MP, the workings of Parliament, and issues facing the Conservative party.
After the talk, Damien took a number of questions ranging from what the first day in Parliament is like for a newly elected MP, to how he got involved in politics and what made him choose to stand for election.
Damien said of the visit:
‘It was great to go down to Edge Hill University to speak with politics students and take their questions. I was pleased to see so many young people so engaged in politics, asking thoughtful questions about the role I and my colleagues play in our democracy.’
