MP Damien Moore will get transport links to Southport on the right track!
Southport MP Damien Moore has met with the rail minister to get better transport links to Southport on the right track! He spoke with Rail Minister Paul Maynard to try and work out how the town will or can keep its vital rail links to Manchester in the future. Mr Moore said: “This week I met with Rail Minister, Paul Maynard MP, to continue our constructive dialogue on the issue of rail links in Southport.
I raised with the Paul my concerns surrounding the current Southport to Piccadilly line and the challenges my constituents are facing daily as they commute to work in Manchester.
This follows a meeting I held with the Parliamentary Under-Secretary of State during the election, where I put forward credible proposals on behalf of my constituents and Southport’s Rail Passengers Group.
In the weeks ahead I will be meeting with Northern Rail and the relevant authorities to see what can be done to revitalise this much-needed service for the benefit of rail passengers and businesses who rely upon it for continued employment and trade.”
