Southport MP Damien Moore visits Coral to discuss gambling and mental health
On April 13th, Damien Moore MP was invited to visit Coral on Chapel Street in Southport.
During his visit, Damien met with the store manager Scott Burkett to discuss betting practices and mental health ahead of the Grand National.
Whilst at the shop, Damien made a complementary bet of £50 on the occasion of the Grand National at Aintree with a guarantee that all winnings will be given to charity.
Speaking about his visit Damien Moore MP said “I had originally accepted Coral’s invitation to visit one of their stores in my constituency to discuss gambling and in particular the health and well being of their customers.”
“I was pleased to discover that Coral are taking the issue of mental health seriously and have a card scheme whereby members betting may be monitored and support is offered to those customers who may suddenly start betting more significant sums.
“I was also pleasantly surprised to receive a complementary bet and, fingers crossed, there will be some extra money for charity by the end of the weekend.”
