In the last week, investigations into recent thefts and attempted thefts have continued with more contact with victims and witnesses to add to the investigations. All fuel stations have been visited. The staff have been made aware of the methods used and the behaviours they should be alert for and when to dial 999. Last Wednesday officers attended the regular bike meet at Southport carousel to speak with bikers and make them aware of the local issues.
A motorcycle stolen in Southport on Thursday the 27th August was recovered, after being crashed in Melling.
A biker seen riding with no registration plate on Lord Street was stopped by one of our officers on patrol in an unmarked car, but turned out to be for a legitimate reason. His plate had come loose on the ride into Southport and he was followed to a local business where he obtained some new screws to resecure his plate.
