Mortgage brokers urged to meet increased demand for specialist lending
Mortgage brokers in Southport are set to discover how they can help the increasing number of people who are applying for specialist loans and mortgages as part of an event happening next week.
Clever Lending is inviting mortgage brokers to its specialist lending forum, which is taking place at Haydock Park Racecourse next Tuesday (12 June 2018) from 9.30am-1.15pm, with lunch provided.
Paul Day, Sales Development Director at Clever Lending said: “There’s an increasing demand for specialist lending from customers who may have a blip on their credit profile, want to buy a property some lenders may not want to lend on, or have an irregular income.
“This forum is a fantastic opportunity for mortgage brokers in the area to find out how they can help more people, who for one reason or another, don’t fit into the normal lending criteria.”
Attendees will hear from a range of national experts, such as Robert Sinclair, CEO of the Association of Mortgage Intermediaries (AMI), who will discuss latest industry trends, and how brokers can tackle new and upcoming challenges with specialist lending.
Speakers from businesses, including Masthaven Bank, Shawbrook Bank, Kensington Mortgages, MT Finance, Pepper Money and 360Dotnet, will then showcase the products and technology available for people with unusual circumstances – and how they can help to maximise mortgage brokers’ customer opportunities.
The event, which is the final one of 2018, is free, and all attendees will receive a certificate of attendance for three continuous professional development (CPD) hours. Plus parking is free. It follows two other forums, which have recently been held in Sunbury-on-Thames and Coventry.
Saiqa Khan, a self-employed mortgage broker who attended the last event, said: “Clever Lending’s event really opened my eyes as to how many people we can actually work with. I’m now working on a self-employed basis and it was great to hear Clever is on-hand to help with clients who don’t fit within the normal lending criteria. There were some cases I wasn’t too sure how to progress – however, I now know I can call Clever who will be able to assist.”
Paul continued: “We organised these events in response to industry demand, which is reflected in recent Registry Trust figures that show more county court judgments (CCJs) were registered against consumers in England and Wales during Q1 2018 than any other quarter since current records began.
“Specialist lending is becoming more mainstream and I would encourage mortgage brokers to come along to the event to find out how they can meet the demand for these increasingly-popular products.”
