Southport Model Engineering Club have confirmed they will restart public rides on Bank Holiday weekend.
The site closed in April due to the coronavirus pandemic, but the team have been hard at work replacing steaming bays and building a brand new turntable.
“We are happy to announce that we can finally start to give rides to the public again.
“Easter weekend, Sunday and Monday will be the start of what we hope to be the beginning of a great summer, not only for running trains but giving rides too.
“Sunday the 4th and Monday the 5th, 12 noon until 4pm (ish), just depends how many people come for a ride. There will be a number of steam engines running.
“We will be operating on a bubble system to keep a social distance, each train consisting of one truck for the driver and a second truck for that bubble.
“Rides will be from the normal station adjacent to the kids play area on Rotten Row. Please observe a social distance when in and around the station area.
“Rides are a donation (suggested £1 per person).
“We hope to see you there.
