A Southport man who launched into a vicious assault on a woman in the town centre has been found guilty of assault by beating.
George Arthur Hayes, 24, launched a frenzied attack on woman earlier this year and at a case at Sefton Magistrates he pleaded guilty to the offences (November 14).

Hayes was given 150 hours community service, ordered to pay £310 court costs and £500 compensation.
The judge disqualified Hayes from driving for 18 months.
