Southport man arrested after car rams police road block
A man from Southport is among two people arrested after a suspected stolen car tried to ram its way through a police road block.
The incident took place at around 9pm on Thursday 21 September 2017).
Merseyside Police Roads Policing Unit tweeted: “Patrols conduct Pre-emptive TPAC East Lancs Rd on stolen car which attempts to ram way out but fails. 2 #Arrested for burglary & agg theft!”
Traffic officers contained the BMW after it was spotted on the East Lancs Road with suspected cloned registration plates.

Police at the scene arrested a 24-year-old male from Southport and an 18-year-old man from Seaforth, both on suspicion of burglary dwelling and aggravated taking of a motor vehicle.
The BMW is believed to have been stolen from the L12 area of Liverpool last Tuesday (September 13).
