The Southport Lifeboat crew proudly played their part in the Three Queens event in Liverpool over the Bank holiday weekend. The event, celebrating 175 years of the Cunard shipping line, attracted hundreds of thousands of visitors to Liverpool over the three days.
The Southport Lifeboat, Heather White, escorted the flag ship RMS Queen Mary 2 up the River Mersey on Sunday Morning to Liverpool Cruise Liner Terminal, Pier Head.
The lifeboat crew were the first to meet the QM2 at the Q4 buoy in the Mersey at 0600 on Sunday 24th May, and escorted her until she had successfully moored at the CLT.
On Monday, our quads were stationed on Formby beach as safety cover for the thousand of spectators who witnessed the Queen Elizabeth and Queen Victoria enter the river.

If anyone has any pictures of our boat or quad bikes, we’d love to see them. Please send them in to press@southport-lifeboat.org.uk or into our Facebook or Twitter pages.
