Southport Lifeboat and quads were tasked by Holyhead Coastguard to search for a despondent female on Ainsdale beach yesterday evening.
Quads proceeded to Ainsdale and carried out a hasty search of the beach, whilst their lifeboat, the Heather White, carried out a tideline search.
Information was later received from the police that the casualty may be inland, located within Ainsdale Nature Reserve.
Following that information, quad bikes cut inland through the dunes and searched along Fisherman’s Path before entering the Nature Reserve and searching northwards towards the Coastal Road with Southport and Crosby Coastguard Rescue Teams and Merseyside Police.
Following an extensive multi-agency search, the casualty was located shortly before 11pm under the railway bridge of the Coastal Road and transferred to an ambulance.
