Law Society raises funds for Queenscourt
Gill Dowling (Head of Property at Brighouses Solicitors on Lord Street) is the current President of the Southport and Ormskirk Law Society.
The Society held their annual dinner at The Vincent Hotel, Southport, Sefton on November 22 and Gill was keen to use that opportunity to do something to raise funds for Queenscourt Hospice, a charity greatly supported by her family.
She has been inspired by her son Zack (aged 12) who, through his own efforts, has raised in excess of £2000 for the hospice.
Gill’s mum volunteers at the hospice and has also organised very successful fundraising events.
Gill carried out a collection at the dinner which has not been done in previous years.
The event was supported many local firms, those attending were asked to place a donation.
This idea proved to be a huge success as, with amazing generosity shown by those who attended, an incredible £817.70 was raised.
