Southport Independents campaign – Get involved!
Here’s an interesting fact for you: did you know that recent market research discovered there are more independent restaurants and bars in Southport town centre per square metre then London? The Southport Independents campaign, launching this week, promises to celebrate this wealth of unique, brilliant and exciting businesses that are the backbone and future of Southport.
The campaign, devised and run by the team at Southport BID, aims to highlight and promote the amazing cafes, vibrant bars and wealth of independent and family entrepreneurs that make our town interesting and unique.
Hugh from Southport BID said “Southport is full of hundreds of wonderful little shops and hidden gems that all too often aren’t discovered or shouted about. In the face of competition from online shopping and the big brands in city centres, what Southport can offer is a unique and personalised shopping experience where customers can discover shops and venues full of character, one of a kind products and great service direct from business owners”
The campaign website Southportindependents.co.uk profiles the businesses within the town centre and hosts a blog which will be regularly updated with news, tips and guides to shopping in Southport. There is also an accompanying Loyalty card, available from The Atkinson and selected venues. This card opens exclusive offers throughout the year for its holders. Follow @southportindies to keep up to date on news and stories from Southport businesses and great loyalty card offers.
The campaign will be fully launched on the 20th of March with offers, promotions & events throughout the town centre during the first of three ‘Independents Weeks’. The team at the BID would love people to share their favourite local business, tag @southportindies into photos of beautiful meals or gorgeous goods they have bought in independent businesses and help spread the word and let others discover and explore!
