CALL OUT – 02/01/20 – 14:29 – Southport ILB and Quads 1 & 2 were requested to launch by HM Coastguard to locate 6 casualties in danger of being cut off by the tide.
The Quads proceeded to Weld Road where they entered the beach and quickly located the casualties. Due to the nature of the tide, Southport ILB launched and remained near the tideline to assist if needed. However, it quickly became apparent that there was not immediate threat to life and the Quads were able to bring the casualties back to shore to the waiting Southport Coastguard.
Southport ILB and the Quads returned to station.
We advise that you check the tide times before heading out to the coast. There are websites online that offer tidal information, with some displaying graphs that clearly show how the tide height varies throughout day and night. A few options have been attached below…
