Struggling Southport hospital has missed out on vital NHS cash from the Tory government.

Despite the town’s Conservative MP making swift inroads into the new cabinet as a parliamentary private secretary, Damien Moore has failed to get Southport and Formby NHS Trust on a list of hospitals to benefit from more funding.

Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced that almost £1bn of the funds will be available immediately to go towards new equipment and upgrades to 20 hospitals.

Southport and Ormskirk hospitals are not included in the list of sites which are to benefit from the cash injection, prompting fresh concerns from local politicians.
