Southport golfers urged not to leave clubs unattended

Golfers in Southport are urged to take precaution when leaving clubs unattended on the golf course.

A golfer playing the Formby Hall Par 3 course today had his clubs stolen when leaving his clubs unattended when walking from the 8th tee to the green.

On his return back to the 8th tee the golfer realised the clubs had been taken.

The golfer said:

“My clubs were only left for five minutes, we can only assume that someone was watching and waiting from the roadside”.

Police are aware of the theft. A spokesman from Formby Hall declined to comment.
