Southport foodbanks will benefit from a slice of 1,119 meals donated by an NHS trust.

Staff from North West Boroughs Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust teamed up with the Trussell Trust charity to make the sizeable donation to its North West foodbanks, including those in Southport as part of NHS Nutrition and Hydration Week.

During the week, donation points were open in buildings across the trust for staff and visitors to donate items of non- perishable food.

All items were collected by local food banks to be sorted into emergency meal parcels by volunteers.

North West Boroughs Healthcare Foundation Trust provide treatment, support and guidance for a range of health needs for people living in Greater Manchester, Halton, Knowsley, Sefton, St Helens, Warrington and Wigan.
