Southport FC have completed the loan signings of defender Ross Sykes and winger Mekhi McLeod from Accrington Stanley.

Ross and Mekhi’s loan agreements will expire on 28th April.

Ross re-joins the Port for a second loan spell this season, having played six matches for the club starting in October. Ross has made five appearances in total for Accrington this season in League 2 and the EFL Trophy. Ross impressed both the club management and supporters during his first spell but was unfortunately recalled by Accrington as injury cover. The club are delighted that Ross has agreed to return to the Merseyrail Community Stadium.

Ross was also named the Trust In Yellow Player Of The Month For October

Mekhi joined Accrington in June following time spent at Billericay and Eastleigh. Mekhi joined Fulham’s youth set up at seven years old and spent ten years at the club before continuing his development at Rangers and Wolverhampton Wanderers, where he regularly featured in the U21 team. Mekhi can either play as a winger or in the number 10’s role.

Both players are available for selection when Southport host AFC Telford at the Merseyrail Community Stadium on Saturday.

The club would like to thank Accrington Stanley and John Coleman for their agreement to allow Ross and Mekhi to join on loan.
