Southport Football Club are pleased to officially announce that Patrick Lacey has signed for the club.
‘Paddy’ is a hard-tackling central midfielder and is an experienced footballer after enjoying spells at Altrincham, Accrington Stanley, as well as National League North success with Barrow in 2014/15 – during his three-year stint at the Bluebirds.
He returns to the club after eight years following a previous loan spell with the club, reuniting once again with Manager, Liam Watson.
“To get Paddy on a 18-month deal is great business for the club. He is the type of player every successful team needs, he is a proven winner, his best years are in front of him and even more important I like him as a person and is someone I have known for a long time.”
The 25 year-old has signed a contract with the Port until 2020 after initially joining on non-contract terms with the side before the FA Trophy fixture against the Moors in mid-December.
