Throughout the country, lockdown measures are beginning to be relaxed. Non-essential businesses have already reopened while pubs, cafes and restaurants are set to open their doors from July 4.
Despite this, care homes remain at considerable risk from Covid-19 and strict lockdown measures are being continued to ensure the safety of inhabitants.
Staff at MHA Connell Court, a residential care home based in Birkdale in Southport, Merseyside have been working hard to lift the spirits of their residents, organising in-house events to keep them entertained during the crisis.
The care home collaborated with Vincent Hotel in Southport for the International Sushi Day on June 18. The hotel donated a large quantity of freshly-made sushi with all the trimmings (and chopsticks).
It was a lovely afternoon, some of the residents had never tried sushi before and were surprised that they liked it.
