A Southport care group encouraging younters into the industry
A community care group responsible for overseeing a number of care and residential homes in Southport are doing all they can to encourage youngsters to enter the care industry.
Athena Healthcare group’s latest scheme is looking at how they can raise awareness of the importance of care homes and care home staff among college and university age students.

All of our Athena lodges are bridging generation gap with the younger generation.
Parklands lodge team have linked With YMCA Sefton Nursery for the last 3 monthly visits, either coming into Parklands lodge or Parklands lodge visiting the YMCA Nursery,seeing the same 6 young children.
At the end of 6 months we will be creating a booklet called ‘care home awareness for the younger generation’ with the help from YMCA Sefton Nursery Manager, Helen McGreavy and the staff.
Today some of our ladies and gentlemen visited YMCA Sefton Nursery as part of ‘National Memory Day’,school time memories.”
