The parade stared at B&Ms on Lord Street despite the Southport BID announcing that it would start at Number 1 Lord Street.
Parade goers were lined up waiting outside Boulevard West and the Cleveland Cafe but they were left disappointed and running to catch the parade up.
One business quoted:
“All the work that went into making us look ready for Halloween, drinks, food made up for this parade…we have been let down.”
Southport BID manager Andrew Sloman made a statement about his mistake:
“I’m so sorry, I’ve investigated and it appears the horse leading the parade took a wrong turn – it was always meant to start at Pleasureland and walk down Duke street to the roundabout right from one end and go to the other.”
Despite the another organizational error it was a Chilling evening but at least it kept dry for the ‘Spookport’ Festival of the Dead…
