The Southport BID Halloween festival ran from the 20th-31st of October and visitors came from all over the region to enjoy four days of great activities around town!
The festival kicked off with a horror film festival in The Atkinson and great kids theatre. The main marquee went up Thursday and was packed each day with families watching great interactive entertainment from monster puppet shows to kids parties and circus sideshow performances.
The giant 16 foot spider Arachnobot arrived Saturday – with great crowds being thrilled with it as it moved up and down Chapel Street chasing people, Wesley Street worked together to put on their own Scarecrow themed Halloween street fate and there were walkabout acts dotted around town including a Demon Puppet Master and The Big Bad Wolf.
There was lots of great feedback from visitors from Manchester, St Helens, Blackpool and The Worral – with many staying overnight to see as many events as possible. Facebook marketing alone reached over 400,000 people and the new website was inundated.
We hope that we can grow the event for 2018 with even more acts in more locations to create a huge buzz around the town centre and ensure Halloween loving visitors know Southport is a great destination for half term fun! If you would like to be involved please just get in touch.
