Chapel Street businesses will fall silent at 1.27pm on Saturday to honour Cassie Hayes.
The travel agent was fatally stabbed while working at TUI travel agent on Chapel Street last week.
Now plans are in place for most businesses to hold a minute’s silence for Cassie a week after her death.
Nathan Jones from Crawshaw’s Butchers said “we’ve been speaking to other businesses on Chapel Street and we want everyone to fall silent at 1.27pm. It would be nice if shoppers could honour this as well”
The family of Cassie Hayes have issued the following tribute.
“Our whole lives have been shattered. This has torn our hearts from our bodies. Cassie was an amazing, kind human being who would do anything for anyone.
She doted on all her family and our loss is beyond calculation. We ask that our family be left to grieve in private.”
