Simon says vote for your unsung hero

Southport residents are being urged to nominate unsung heroes for a national award.

Falklands war veteran Simon Weston, who was named the Nation’s Favourite Hero in 2014, has joined forces with global hearing specialist Amplifon for the third annual Amplifon Awards for Brave Britons, which will celebrate truly remarkable people who are an example to the nation.

Amplifon, which has a store in Southport, set up the awards in honour of Amplifon’s
founder, Second World War hero Major Charles Holland.

Emma Haouche, audiologist at Amplifon’s Lord Street branch said: “The awards celeb- rate the real unsung heroes in our local communities – those truly remarkable people who are an inspiration to us all.”
The winners will be unveiled by Simon Weston at the Army and Navy Club in Lon- don on October 16.

The closing date for applications is August 3. These can be sub- mitted at amplifon.com/web/uk/awa
